Microscopic

Throughout this project I have chose to look at Microscopic materials. I had become interested in this after seeing many examples of this process on Pinterest and thought it would be a great way to produce visual imagery for me to use within my videos to project. The main source of microscopic imagery I found was of alcoholic drinks which were a collection of photographs called ‘ Bev Shots’. I had looked at several artists work before such as a scientist that created Jon Hopkins art work for his latest Album Open Eye Signal which also used similar techniques. To capture these images in such a colourful way the liquid would have to be crystalized and then a high magnification microscope with a polarized light would have to be used to capture these. After responding to some of these inspiring images by re creating them using different medias, it would also be great to be able to capture some first hand imagery using the microscopes at the university which I am going to most definitely look into doing. I do not want to limit myself into only looking at a particular area of microscopic though, as I have found many other objects which are really fascinating once looked at under a microscope such as bacteria, minerals, crystals and animal wings.
