Week One:
In the first week of unit x we were split up into several different groups so we had a chance to work and get to know different people from other courses that we hadn’t previously worked with before. I really enjoyed this as it meant I could be pushed out of my comfort zone that I beforehand had in my textiles area and learn to grasp the techniques and ideas of other courses such as graphics, interior design and 3d modelling.
Within this session we began to brainstorm ideas in which we could come up with ideas for the rooftop installation. We began to identify different contexts that could be relevant to the rooftop installation.
Some of the key themes we come up with as a group were, creating a sensation, escapism, creativity, practicality, efficiency, textures, pushing the boundaries with old and new technologies to create a unique experience for the viewer.
